Gary Neville enjoys celebratory glass of wine after United’s heroics v Liverpool

You deserve it Gary!

I’m sure Gary Neville isn’t the only Manchester United fan enjoying a glass of wine tonight after watching the mighty Reds knock Liverpool out of the FA Cup with a 3-2 win over our fiercest rivals.

The Sky Sports pundit has been winding up Scousers for as long as he can remember, and he makes the most of it on social media.

The former United defender ran the length of the pitch to goad Liverpool fans after Rio Ferdinand scored a late winner in their 2006 encounter at Old Trafford. It was glorious and I recall being a child seeing it and forever dreaming of doing it in front of the Kop as a United player.

Years later and Neville was happy to reveal that his badge-kissing after Ferdinand’s winner was “absolutely” worth the £10,000 he was subsequently fined by The FA, as per The Independent.

There will be Liverpool fans absolutely fuming at the thought of seeing Neville retweeted on their Twitter feed tonight enjoying a drop of wine.

It’s the small things in life, eh? Like giving the Scousers a good beating.
