Manchester United legend Rio Ferdinand has hailed Paul Pogba’s recent upturn in form and has highlighted the Frenchman’s quick-play as the main reason why he’s doing so well.
Ferdinand, now retired, knows better than most what it takes to be a success at Old Trafford.
The legendary defender turned out for United from 2002 – 2014 during a 12 year period which saw the Englishman lift a whopping 16 major trophies, including six Premier League titles.
Now retired from playing and working as a top pundit on BT Sport, Ferdinand watched on as his old club side retained top-spot in the league after beating Fulham 2-1 during Wednesday night’s clash at Craven Cottage.
Yet another fine performance from midfielder Pogba helped secure all three-points for the Red Devils.
The World Cup winner popped up with the game’s winning goal after a stunning long-range strike gifted his side the lead mid-way through the second-half.
Speaking after the game live on air with BT Sport, as quoted by Metro, Ferdinand said: “The big difference recently is he’s been playing quicker. He’s quick with what he’s doing, the efficiency is top, top drawer.
“He is a magnificent footballer and when he’s in this form, he’s one of the best.”
United’s world-class midfielder’s continued impressive form is quickly becoming vital to their surprising title charge.
