Arsenal youngster hails Man United’s Bruno Fernandes

Arsenal’s youth sensation Emile Smith-Rowe has hailed Manchester United’s Bruno Fernandes after comparisons between the pair’s on-field stats saw the youngster reveal his admiration for United’s Portuguese star.

Smith-Rowe, 20, has spent his entire career with Arsenal after joining their youth academy when he was just a boy.

After experiencing successful loan spells with Huddersfield and RB Leipzig, the young attacking midfielder has gone on to force his way into Mikel Arteta’s first-team plans.

Currently enjoying a hugely impressive breakthrough period, Smith-Rowe has already been directly involved in 10 goals from just his first 22 senior appearances, in all competitions.

The 20-year-old’s latest contributions came during his side’s 3-0 win over Newcastle United during Monday night’s Premier League clash at the Emirates.

Speaking to Sky Sports after the game, Smith-Rowe was asked about his feelings on being compared to Fernandes who is one of the only players to have more goal involvements than the youngster.

“I look up to Bruno Fernandes as a player,” Smith-Rowe told Sky Sports, as quoted by MEN. “His stats are crazy.”
