Rio Ferdinand heaps praise on Rice and predicts where West Ham midfielder will end up

Former Manchester United centre-back Rio Ferdinand has discussed the future of West Ham midfielder Declan Rice.

He’s a big fan of Rice, who has become one of West Ham’s main players as well as an England International in recent times.

This predictably led to Rice being linked with bigger clubs.

The Daily Mail claim that the midfielder would favour a move to Chelsea over United if the opportunity came along.

It’s not something I would be miffed over — he’s not exactly my first choice when it comes to United needing a holding midfielder in the summer.

Moreover, Ferdinand also believes Rice wants to return to Chelsea, having had a spell in their Academy as a youngster.

“I don’t think he goes this window, I think he stays there for the remainder of the season. I don’t think he’s the kind of kid who is going to push to leave right now,” Ferdinand said on his YouTube channel.

“If it happens, it will be between the clubs. I don’t think he’s going to be the person that instigates it.

“I think he’s quite a laid-back kid in that sense but he’s a driven kid. He’s someone who wants to achieve, better himself and improve.”

He added: “Good luck to him. I think it’s inevitable he will go but I think — if I’m being realistic — he will go in the summer and I think it would be to Chelsea if he had his wish.”

Manchester United fan Stephen Howson hosts the show on Rio Ferdinand’s YouTube channel, and they are joined by YouTube personality Spencer Owen.

Surely it’s time for Rio to invest in a better camera and mic? 😂

It’s not what West Ham fans want to be hearing about one of their best players but I think it’s inevitable that he will leave them in the next year or two.

Chelsea could do with more quality in their side to sure things up defensively, but as a United fan I would want us going for someone better than Rice.

  1. Is that really all there is to go on about. Just gets somewhat tedious repetitive and sheer speculation. Whatever happened to actual reporting ?
