Manchester United could consider terminating Tahith Chong’s loan spell with Werder Bremen.
Tahith Chong, 21, joined Manchester United’s academy in 2016 from Feyenoord in his homeland.
Despite impressing in the youth teams at United, Chong needs to improve before he can think about being a regular at Old Trafford, which is why Ole Gunnar Solskjaer sent him to Germany to continue his development.
However, life in Bremen has not gone quite to plan.
He’s struggling to get game time — but starts today’s game away to Bayer Leverkusen in the Bundesliga.
According to Fussball Transfers, Chong’s loan spell has ‘fallen short of expectations’ and he is not getting the minutes United were expecting him to when the move wad initially agreed between the two clubs in the summer.
With six months left on his contract, I’m sure United will look at the situation over the coming weeks and check whether the Dutch winger is getting the minutes he needs before returning to Old Trafford.
And, as things stand, it’s scoreless between Leverkusen and Bremen.
We’ll produce updates if Chong does anything special in the game.
