Video: Gary Neville mocks Liverpool during UK lockdown announcement

On Monday evening, Prime Minister Boris Johnson outlined a new lockdown in England during a TV address.

People in England have been told to stay at home where possible due to a sharp rise in coronavirus cases.

But elite sport will continue meaning the Premier League is exempt from the new parameters.

And plenty of Manchester United fans will have been keeping a watchful eye on their rivals Liverpool during the Prime Minister’s address to the nation.

Jurgen Klopp’s side fell behind 1-0 against Southampton at St Mary’s through former striker Danny Ings’ incredible lobbed effort.

United great Gary Neville, who is always eager to poke fun at Liverpool, took to social media to joke about the Saints strike midway through Johnson’s live speech.

The Reds are currently level on points with Liverpool at the summit of the league and will be hoping their rivals drop more points against Southampton.
