The future of Borussia Dortmund star Jadon Sancho was one of the talking points of the summer transfer window.

On the back of another brilliant season at Signal Iduna Park, scoring 20 goals and registered the same amount of assists, Sancho was heavily linked with a move to Manchester United (via GOAL).

Most big clubs have been tipped with a move for the winger at some point, but United have been linked far more with Sancho than any other outfit.

United still need a right winger and the England star looked like their primary target in the summer.

Evidently, however, transfer deadline day passed and Sancho remained a Dortmund player.

There’s been a new update from respected journalist Fabrizio Romano who believes United were on the verge of clinching Sancho, only for Dortmund to stand in the way of their plans. An agreement is said to have been in place, which would have seen Sancho join United for a transfer fee of €100m.

Romano believes that United remain the frontrunners to finally sign Sancho next summer.
