Respected Italian football journalist Fabrizio Romano has provided an update on Manchester United’s attempts to sign a 19-year-old Ecuador international.

Moises Caicedo, who is still playing in Ecuador, has already been capped for the National Team.

Reports suggest he’s attracted attention from Manchester United, with Romano providing an update on the story to his Twitter followers.

Updates like the tweet below are why Romano can boast such a huge Twitter following. He provides updates on the regular for multiple clubs.

It looks like United are in the driving seat to sign Caicedo. The defensive midfielder looks like he’s happy to move to England, so a deal sounds like it could be in United’s hands.

Romano responds to a United fan asking why the deal hasn’t be sealed, to which the journalist claimed that there has not been a financial decision made yet.

On top of that, Caicedo would need a work permit — but as an international football he should be fine.

Surely United can arrange some sort of deal?
