Solskjaer excited by Amad Diallo’s arrival in January granted work permit is solved

Manchester United looked to sign a right-winger all summer before surprisingly ending up with two on deadline day.

The only problem was neither was Jadon Sancho.

Still, the club were delighted to announce that two 18-year-old wingers named Amad Diallo and Facundo Pellistri has joined the club.

The hope within United is in time both new signings will emerge as major players in the first team, which is something Sancho could have done this season had a deal with Borussia Dortmund materialised.

Pellistri has yet to make his United debut despite training with the first team, and Diallo remains at Serie A outfit Atalanta until January to give all parties involved sufficient time to sort his work permit.

Solskjaer gave an update on the two players at his press conference this afternoon, saying (via Manchester Evening News): “Facundo has come in trained with the first-team, he’s done well, we felt now is time for him to get game time. He played a couple of games in reserves, gradually settled in nicely and is more used to us.

“Amad has come on a few times for Atalanta and is a very exciting talent and hopefully we’l get the work permit and he’ll be with us in January. He’s a very, very exciting boy as well.”

Diallo could make his first start for Atalanta on Sunday against Udinese. We’ll be keeping an eye out to see if there’s anything worthwhile to bring you from that game, so make sure to follow @StrettyNews on Twitter.
