Premier League team of the week: Man Utd duo make cut after comeback against Southampton

Garth Crooks’ latest Premier League team of the week.

Although I don’t think we’ve ever seen Bruno Fernandes play at right wing-back, that is how Crooks decided to line-up his Premier League team of the week XI in a midfield four.

There will always be debate to follow whenever a TOTW is announced and this one, via BBC Sport, is no different.

The latest side is dominated Man City, United, Tottenham and Wolves, with these four clubs alone accounting for nine of the players in the team. See below:

Another player spotted out of position is City’s Benjamin Mendy, who Crooks has in at centre-back to go along with Fernandes at right wing-back.

The second United player to make this week’s XI is Edinson Cavani after his match-winning display against Southampton at St. Mary’s.

In his best game yet for United, Cavani came off the bench to not only assist Fernandes as the Reds pulled one goal back. He went on to score a headed brace which turned the game on its head in stoppage time.

Maybe next week we’ll see more United players involved and everyone in their preferred role.
