Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has only scored one goal from open play so far this season.
Manchester United fans have took the opportunity to take a swipe at the Gunners because their main man up front seems to be struggling.
It works in our favour that Edinson Cavani has come in and hit the ground running.
United legend Rio Ferdinand has called out Nicolas Pepe and Alexandre Lacazette for ‘relying’ on Aubameyang too much, which they’re going to stop doing soon if his form continues.
Arsenal lost their four home game of the season on Sunday as Wolves ran out 2-1 winners at the Emirates. It was another difficult match for Aubameyang, and Ferdinand told the FIVE YouTube channel: ‘What’s going on with you lot [Arsenal] over there?!
‘I love the way Arteta is bringing the young players in and the young players have been performing but sometimes you need the experienced players to drag you through a situation like this.
‘Laca man! We need Laca to come up with some goals man! Pepe! When you get your chance come in and bang. We haven’t seen that cutting edge from this Arsenal team.
‘Arteta came in and steadied the ship and told them ‘This is what I’m doing, this is my team this is what I do at Arsenal’ and the players responded to it.
‘Aubameyang in particular was scoring goals but this just shows you how reliant this team is on Aubameyang. If he doesn’t score then Arsenal aren’t the same team man.’
In September, Aubameyang agreed on new terms with Arsenal as he signed a three-year contract extension to see him earn £350k-per-week.
Free transfer Cavani has three Premier League goals to his name.
United fans didn’t take long to jump on Twitter:
Cavani has more EPL goals this season (3) than Aubameyang (2) and he hasn’t even played a full 90 minutes game TF! 😭😭
