Manchester United linked with a January move for Ousmane Dembele

Manchester United are reportedly lining up a move for Barcelona winger Ousmane Dembele in the January transfer window.

Dembele, 23, was heavily linked with a move to Old Trafford over the summer and now according to Spanish publication Mundo Deportivo, United are looking to sign the Frenchman once the transfer window opens in January.

The Frenchman joined Barcelona from Borussia Dortmund back in 2017 but has failed to deliver at the Nou Camp with Dembele finding himself more often than not on the substitutes bench rather than in the starting eleven.

It now appears his days at Barcelona could be numbered with United said to be preparing a move for the winger.

Despite not flourishing at Barcelona it must not be forgotten that Dembele is still only 23 years of age and is still an exciting prospect. In a starting eleven that included the likes of Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez and co Dembele was always going to find it difficult to be regular in the Barcelona starting eleven and although his time at Barcelona may not have been a success he is still one of the most exciting prospects in European football.

His terrific pace combined with his excellent dribbling on the ball makes him a real special talent and is one who would undoubtedly strengthen Manchester United’s starting eleven. United haven’t really had an out and out winger since the days early days of Cristiano Ronaldo and with Demeble on board it would go a long way to further strengthening Ole’s options down the flanks.  Martial can do a job down the flanks as can Daniel James but United are still in need of a true out and out winger and I believe Dembele is the perfect fit.

Likely to be available for a fraction of what Barcelona paid for Dembele back in 2017 Dembele I feel would be a great addition to the Manchester United squad and is a player of whom has a point to prove.

He didn’t get enough opportunities to prove his real worth at Barcelona and at United he would get the chance to do exactly that. He is a player who at 23 of age still has his best footballing days ahead of him and has bags of potential to really go on and make a name for himself and if Solskjaer can manage to get him on board then I think he could prove to be a terrific piece of business for United.
