Memphis Depay takes pop at Glazer family in latest rap ‘Big Fish’

Former Manchester United attacker Memphis Depay appears to have had a go at the Glazer family in his latest rap song, ‘Big Fish’.

The Netherlands moved to Old Trafford from PSV in 2015 but never hit the ground running after scoring just two goals in the Premier League. A transfer to Lyon followed two years later and he’s showed better form as a result.

As well as playing football for Lyon, Depay also fancies himself as a hip-hop star/rapper and has released several tracks, with his latest aiming a swipe at the Glazer family.

‘I’ve been planning to make some statements,’ raps Depay. ‘I need money like the Glazers.’

The track, ‘Big Fish’, is pretty explicit so be careful listening to it around young ears!

We have been opposed to the Glazers since before their dept-ridden takeover in 2005, so it’s nice to see a former player come out and throw a dig at their expense. Not that the Glazers will care but still…

Depay’s contract at Lyon expires next summer and he’s been linked with a move to Barcelona, as per AS, which could see him reunite with Netherlands legend Ronald Koeman.

I’m highly doubtful he will return to United one day, but it’s nice to see Memphis is anti-Glazer like the rest of us.
