Manchester United stars wish Raul Jimenez well after horrible head injury

Wolves striker Raul Jimenez suffered a fractured skull against Arsenal, and Manchester United stars David de Gea and Harry Maguire have taken to social media to wish the Mexican a speedy recovery.

Wolves have released a statement providing an update on the condition of striker Raul Jimenez after a nasty head collision with David Luis during last night’s Premier League meeting.

Although it was a good night for Wolves, winning 2-1 against Arsenal away from home, there was a lot of unrest after two opposing players came out of a challenge badly.

Jimenez clearly came out of the collision much worse.

Wolves’ statement claims Jimenez has had an operation on a fractured skull and is now recovering.

The statement read: “Raul is comfortable following an operation last night, which he underwent in a London hospital.

“He has since seen his partner Daniela and is now resting. He will remain under observation for a few days while he begins his recovery.

“The club would like to thank the medical staff at Arsenal, the NHS paramedics, hospital staff and surgeons who, through their skill and early response, were of such help.

“The club ask that Raul and his family are now afforded a period of space and privacy, before any further updates are provided in due course.”

Luiz played on despite the collision resulting in a cut on his head.

This shows how football is still behind the times when it comes to injuries. How Luiz was deemed okay to play on baffles me, and it comes during a period where everyone is discussing the dangers of concussion in football.

A number of United stars have taken to social media to wish Jimenez the best with his recovery. Check out the Instagram stories posted by David de Gea and Harry Maguire below:

Fellow professionals don’t wish injuries on their opponents because one day they could easily find themselves in the same situation.

Everyone at Stretty News wishes Jimenez a full and speedy recovery.
