Phenomenal stat sees Bruno Fernandes join three Man United legends

Manchester United midfielder Bruno Fernandes’ latest goal scoring heroics against Southampton earlier this afternoon have seen the star join a host of Old Trafford legends.

Fernandes, 26, joined United earlier this year from Sporting Lisbon in a transfer which cost the Red Devils’ hierachy £49.5m, as per Transfermarkt.

Eyebrows were initally raised over the whopping fee for the Portuguese star, but Fernandes has wasted no time in repaying the huge sums paid for his services.

Since his debut back on February 1, United’s new 26-year-old has been directly involved in a simply stunning 35 goals in just 36 appearances in all competitions.

Having started earlier today against Southampton in the Premier League, Fernandes was among the goals yet again after he kick-started his side’s dramatic comeback.

Fernandes scored the first of United’s three during a game which saw Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s team claim an inspired 3-2 win.

In light of Fernandes’ performance an incredible stat has emerged which shows he is one of just four United players to score in five consecutive away games.

The Portuguese midfielder now joins a list comprising of Ruud van Nistelrooy, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Robin van Persie.
