Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has awarded new-signing Donny van de Beek with his first Premier League start since his arrival in the summer.
Van de Beek, 23, joined United during the summer transfer window from Ajax in a transfer which cost the Reds’ hierarchy £39m, as per Sky Sports.
Since his arrival in Manchester, van de Beek has been forced to be introduced slowly into the squad’s first-team plans which has caused much speculation surrounding his long-term future.
The talented Dutch midfielder has featured in a total of 12 matches in all competitions and has been directly involved in two goals, however, most of those have come from the bench after Solskjaer has opted to award van de Beek with a squad role.
That was, at least until today, now van de Beek is set to line-up for his new side when the Reds face-off against Southampton in today’s early Premier League kick-off.
In light of van de Beek’s long-awaited Premier League start, pockets of United fans have taken to their social media to give their thoughts ahead of today’s important clash.
