Confirmed Man Utd XI vs Southampton – Van de Beek starts again

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has named his starting eleven to face Southampton at St. Mary’s Stadium.

The official Manchester United Twitter account shared today’s confirmed XI in a rather mixed format.

It looks like a back four of Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Victor Lindelof, Harry Maguire and Alex Telles with David de Gea positioned between the posts.

The midfield sees Donny van de Beek get a start along with Nemanja Matic, Fred, Bruno Fernandes.

Responsible for scoring goals is Mason Greenwood and Marcus Rashford.

The full line-up: De Gea; Wan-Bissaka, Maguire, Lindelof, Telles; Matic, Fred, Van de Beek, Fernandes; Greenwood, Rashford.

I think the team Solskjaer has named today has what it takes to get a good result.

Regardless of form showed thus far this season, United should be beating Southampton and the team that has been announced is more than capable of winning comfortably.

Edinson Cavani has been named on the bench with Juan Mata and Daniel James, so Solskjaer has attacking options if he needs a goal late on. Hopefully we are cruising at that stage.
