Man City lodge complaint to Sky Sports over Roy Keane comment

Manchester City have reportedly made an official complaint to Sky Sports over Roy Keane’s comments.

The former Manchester United midfielder called Kyle Walker ‘an idiot’, as quoted by the Daily Mail, speaking live on air.

When asked how Liverpool’s Sadio Mane won a penalty against City, Keane replied: “Because he’s up against an idiot.”

His take on Walker has offended those at the Etihad, despite it being Keane’s job to assess players (often critically).

Another report from the Daily Mail claims City have now officially complained to Sky Sports over Keane’s name-calling.

City think Keane’s comments cross the line — and claim that other than this incident they have no problem with the Irishman criticising their players’ performances.

It’s clearly the use of the word ‘idiot’ that has triggered City here, but how can a simple term like that manage to create such a fuss?

Is it really something City or Walker have been thinking about since the November internationals began?

Sky Sports reportedly declined to comment on the alleged complaint.
