Manchester United are in advanced talks to sign Atalanta teenage forward Amad Traore, Fabrizio Romano has confirmed.
Traore, 19, is regarded highly in Italy and looks increasingly likely to sign for the Reds, but perhaps not before the 11pm transfer deadline.
The Ivorian youngster was an unused substitute in Atalanta’s 5-2 victory over Cagliari on Sunday but has long been linked with a move away from the Serie A club.
And according to transfer expert Romano, United are set to complete a deal for Traore either now or in the January window after a deal to Parma collapsed.

Manchester Evening News journalist Samuel Luckhurst was one of the first to break United’s interest in Traore in mid-September, and he suggested the teenager is not seen as an alternative target to prime target Jadon Sancho.
Luckhurst gave an update on Traore in the MEN on Monday, stating that the club are increasingly optimistic of concluding a deal.
It is added that United have been having issues arranging a visa for Traore to move to Manchester but a deal could now be wrapped up next January.
Traore is not the proven talent that supporters are demanding on transfer deadline day but he is certainly an exciting young talent that could have a huge future at Old Trafford.
