Lazio sporting director Igli Tare has confirmed that Manchester United midfielder Andreas Pereira will be a Lazio player ‘in days’ after it emerged that the Brazilian midfielder had become a late summer target for the Serie A side.
Pereira, 24, joined United’s famous youth academy in 2012 from PSV’s youth set-up and has since gone onto enjoy loan spells with Granada and Valencia before returning to Old Trafford and forcing his way into the side’s senior first-team.
Pereira has featured a total of 75 times in all competitions for United after making his first-team Premier League debut against Tottenham Hotspur in 2015.
Despite making his long-awaited first-team debut over five years ago the Brazilian midfielder has only managed to be directly involved in nine goals with his time as a Red Devil becoming increasingly likely to end soon.
Leading journalist Fabrizio Romano revealed earlier this month that Lazio have opened talks with United for the attacking midfielder.
The latest in this rapidly developing saga comes from Lazio sporting director Tare who addressed his side’s next two matches today in Amatrice for the Manlio Scopigno-Felice Pulici Prize as quoted by Tutto Mercato Web said: “Atalanta and Inter? To say that they are two fundamental matches is too much, four players are missing. that must arrive. Pereira will arrive in two or three days.”
