Manchester United have reportedly launched an official £12m bid for FC Porto left-back Alex Telles.
Telles, 27, joined FC Porto from Galatasaray in 2016 in a move which cost the Portuguese side £5.85m as per TransferMarkt and has since gone onto feature a total of 194 times for the club.
The exciting Brazilian has become best known for his offensive capabilities after being directly involved in a hugely impressive 82 goals in all competitions for FC Porto.
The attacking full-back emerged as a summer target for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer after a report from Portuguese outlet A Bola claimed the Reds were lining up a £18m bid for the Brazilian defender.
Despite the intensifying suggestions that Telles could be on his way to Old Trafford, a deal so far, has failed to materialise.
However, that could all be set to change after the latest in the ongoing saga comes from a recent report from The Guardian who claim that the Reds have officially launched a £12m bid for the exciting full-back.
The Guardian’s report states that although FC Porto are hoping for closer to £18m for their defender the United hierarchy are confident a deal for less can be struck due to the player’s current deal expiring in the summer of 2021 which would allow him to agree a pre-contract as early as January 1.
