It all kicked off deep into extra time in the first game of the Premier League’s second matchday between Brighton and Hove Albion and Manchester United earlier this afternoon.
United and Brighton were all square at 2-2 after a 95th minute Solly March goal levelled proceedings.
The Reds looked certain to share the spoils with their south coast counterparts but a 99th minute penalty was awarded after club captain Harry Maguire headed the ball goalwards which was unquestionably handled by striker Neil Maupay.
Here is how the Sky Sports News reporters including popular host Jeff Stelling reacted as the action unfolded in today’s game.
The referee blew the whistle for full-time but restarted the game to award Manchester United a penalty after a handball from Maupay 😳
