Manchester United have yet to receive any official offers for Jesse Lingard.

The England midfielder has been heavily linked with a move away from Old Trafford, to clubs such as Tottenham, as per the Express. That switch would see Lingard form a reunion with former United boss Jose Mourinho.

Fans wouldn’t lose much sleep if Lingard was one of the players to get the axe this summer. After scoring just four goals in 40 appearances across all competitions for United last season, those frustrated by his performances can feel it’s completely justified.

The latest line from Sky Sports News, however, claims Lingard has yet to be persuaded to leave the club.

Lingard’s representatives have held talks with several clubs in England and Europe, so it sounds like they are biding their time and ensuring that the right decision is made.

I would be surprised if Lingard stayed at United this season because he’s not going to get the games he wants.

The addition of Donny van de Beek was always bad news for Lingard and Andreas Pereira, but it’s good news for fans.
