Premier League outfit Wolves are reportedly interested in Juventus attacker Douglas Costa, who the media has painted as a Manchester United transfer target should the Red Devils fail in their attempts to sign Jadon Sancho.

Costa, 30, signed for Juventus in 2018 after enjoying a stint with The Old Lady on loan from Bayern Munich. He cost the Italian giants £36m, according to Transfermarkt.

It was reported earlier this summer via Corriere Dello Sport that United had made a £27m bid for the Brazil international only to be quickly rejected by Juventus.

We cannot back up claims that there was a bid made from United for Costa, however, it has been further speculated that United view the Brazilian as a possible alternative to priority target Jadon Sancho when Borussia Dortmund’s demands emerged, as per The Times.

The latest news surrounding Costa signals interest from Wolves, with Italian outlet Calciomercato suggesting they see him as a replacement for Diogo Jota, who has joined Liverpool.

It’s early stages yet and Costa’s representatives could be name dropping their client hoping United give up on Sancho and sign the Juventus star instead.

I have my suspicions but think he’d make a brilliant signing for Wolves.

Costa is not a prolific scorer by any means, though.
