Patrice Evra has attempted to explain why Manchester United fans are frustrated with how things are developing (or lack of) in the transfer market.
Every summer Manchester United are linked to every Tom, Dick and Harry. Football agents across the world know that lots of attraction comes when their client is linked with a move to Old Trafford.
Evra has noted that United make more impact on social media than reality, and he’s right. If you read through Twitter you’ll see United have agreed terms and deals over players, then later it turns out to be complete rubbish.
Fans read reports and get excited over potential arrivals. When they don’t happen — whether United were genuinely interested in that player or not — it backfires on the club because fans get frustrated.
Evra is spot on with his analysis of United’s summer. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer needs more players and it would be nice to see the club act on their targets!

At the end Evra says he’s “optimistic” with just under three weeks left in the transfer window.
