Manchester United consider Ismaila Sarr transfer but face competition from rivals for winger’s signature

Manchester United have reportedly turned their attentions towards Watford’s Ismaila Sarr as an alternative to Borussia Dortmund winger Jadon Sancho.

With United struggling to land Sancho as they struggle to agree terms with Borussia Dortmund, the board will consider their options and see who else is available who will improve the team.

Sarr would be a lot cheaper than Sancho, which I can only assume will be music to Glazer ears.

The young Senegal international scored six goals and grabbed as many assists in almost 24 appearances.

According to the Independent, intermediaries have enquired over Sarr’s availability as United consider him as an alternative to Sancho, with his price-tag believed to be around £30m.

Although £30m may seem a bit too much to pay on a player who played in a relegated side last season, but Nathan Ake cost Man City around the same when he left Bournemouth earlier this summer, and we all know English clubs demand crazy prices for their players.

Sarr joined the Hornets two seasons ago from French side Stage Rennaise.

The 22-year-old’s most memorable moment came back in February when he single handedly ended Liverpool’s invincible aspirations after scoring twice and assisting the other in his side’s 3-0 thumping over the eventual champions.

Dominic King of the Mail claims Liverpool have enquired bout Sarr and discussed his situation. They’ve yet to make a bid but King adds Watford would want £36m.

Sarr could end up being a very shrewd option for United. What do you think?
