Andy Cole believes in United strike force with or without Jadon Sancho

Manchester United are still being heavily linked with a move for Borussia Dortmund’s Jadon Sancho.

There’s just over two weeks to go until the transfer window shuts, so the Reds would want to be getting a move on if they plan to land Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s main target this summer.

Talks have not progressed like we would have wanted and the thought of daily updates has become tiresome. We call it saga, in Germany they refer to it was ‘Sancho Poker’.

Former Man United striker Andy Cole doesn’t sound too bothered about the club potentially missing out on Sancho this summer.

Cole thinks United already have enough striking talent.

“Ole’s got Man United playing the way Man United should be player — attacking football,” Cole told the Daily Mirror.

“Some of the signings Ole’s made have made Manchester United better, more creative.

“I think he’s got them playing with a freedom now that they should be playing with and that’s what everyone wanted to see.

“I think they (the front three) are all good enough to hold that responsibility of scoring goals. They played very well last season, all contributing and creating chances.

“If they can carry that form into this season, continue doing the right things then I’d like to think Manchester United can kick-on from last season.”

It will put a strain on our start to the season if more signings aren’t made. Not long ago a lot of us felt a degree of optimism going into this campaign, on the back of how strongly we finished in the Premier League last season, but that has quickly diminished.

United have a lot of work to do and time is running out.

There is a chance United will look elsewhere if they can’t strike a deal with Sancho closer to the transfer deadline.

Solskjaer could do with adding players to his attack and the Reds have previously been linked to Barcelona misfit Ousmane Dembele as a possible alternative to Sancho, as per ESPN.

Despite Dembele’s struggles throughout his career, there is no doubting the boy has tons of ability and it might not be the worst option if we could take him on loan for a seaon — with the option to buy next summer.
