Aston Villa have announced that Jack Grealish has signed a new five-year contract with the club.
The new deal sees the 25-year-old commit his long-term future to his boyhood club, keeping him at Villa Park until 2025.
It should put an end to the speculation over Grealish joining Manchester United.
A deal never looked likely once United signed Donny van de Beek from Ajax.
The Dutch midfielder cost £35m, as per BBC Sport, but Grealish would have cost near double that (via Sky Sports).
Check out the announcement below, as well as a picture of Grealish after putting pen to paper:
It’s great news for Villa and I doubt there were many clubs looking to splash the cash on Grealish this summer.
COVID-19 has definitely affected the transfer market financially as we expected it would.
Grealish will hope he can help Villa retain their Premier League status again this term.
