Marcus Rashford pulled off terrific skills in Manchester United’s warm-up friendly against Aston Villa on Saturday.
The Reds suffered a 1-0 defeat at Villa Park but it wasn’t about the result since it was a friendly — used to give the players some minutes ahead of the new Premier League campaign, which kicks off for United on Saturday against Crystal Palace.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side were given an extra week to prepare for the new season because of our involvement in the latter stages of last term’s Europa League, so they used that free weekend to squeeze in their only pre-season match.
It’s not ideal and the coming season will be long, concluding just before Euro 2021.
Although Rashford was unable to get on the scoresheet against Villa, he provided some trickery inside their box that saw him nutmeg an opposing player along with an elastico.

Hopefully Rashford will open his account for the season on Saturday because he received some criticism towards the end of last season on the back of below par performances.
People forget he suffered a serious injury and spent months out, initially missing the tail end of the 2019-20 campaign, but the rescheduling of the Premier League fixtures after lockdown allowed him extra time to recover. Still, even at that he was only back in the team so we’ll see if a short summer break stands him in good stead for the coming months.
