Manchester United and Chelsea have reportedly been joined by Jose Mourinho’s Tottenham Hotspur in the race to sign Hellas Verona’s highly-rated centre-back Marash Kumbulla.
Kumbulla, 20, has spent his entire career with Hellas Verona and has since go onto make his way through the Italian side’s youth ranks to become a Serie A regular.
The talented centre-back has made a total of 28 senior first-team appearances for Hellas Verona and after a string of fine performances has reportedly caught the eye of some of Europe’s biggest teams including United, Chelsea and now Tottenham Hotspur.
According to a recent report from an outlet close to Hellas Verona L’Arena claims that both United and Chelsea have been closely monitoring the Albanian defender and have recently been joined by Jose Mourinho who is understood to be keen to add Kumbulla to his defensive options.
The report also claims that Kumbulla will only be allowed to depart his current club for a fee in excess of €24m which has all but ruled out the possibility of fellow admirers AC Milan making a move.
It has been reported that no club has made an official bid for the young defender yet but the outlet acknowledges that Kumbulla’s current situation is very fluid and can change at any moment from now until the end of the summer transfer window.
