Manchester United look to be increasingly more likely to miss out on highly-rated Lille centre-back Gabriel Magalhaes who reportedly prefers a switch to Arsenal over the Red Devils.

Magalhaes, 22, has been a reported target for Premier League trio Arsenal, Everton and Manchester United and Italian giants Napoli, however, despite the ongoing tug-of-war for the Brazilian’s signature, United and Everton look set to miss out as the commanding centre-back prefers a move to either London or Naples.

The 22-year-old has endured an impressive season having made 34 appearances in all competitions as his defensive qualities help his side reach a top-four Ligue 1 finish.

According to French outlet La Voix du Nord via Sports Witness, Magalhaes has trimmed his potential destinations down to either Arsenal and Napoli forcing both Everton and United to look elsewhere.

The report claims that despite Lille accepting transfer offers from all four clubs the player’s wage offers did not match which would suggest that both Arsenal and Napoli are willing to pay the Brazilian more than Everton and United are.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will undoubtedly be left frustrated by this news after he has repeatedly drawn attention to his side’s lack of quality in depth with his latest damning verdict come last night after his side disappointingly crashed out of the Europa League against Sevilla.
