Jadon Sancho holds key to completing Manchester United transfer, Fjortoft claims

Manchester United are yet to make an offer for Jadon Sancho despite their obvious interest in the Borussia Dortmund forward, claims Jan Aage Fjortoft.

Retired Norwegian footballer and respected Bundesliga journalist Fjortoft has provided United supporters an unwelcome update on the club’s prime target, and there is no indication that the proposed transfer for the England international is getting any closer.

United’s desire to sign Sancho has become an open secret this summer, with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer keen to bolster his attacking options in the hope of mounting a Premier League title challenge in the coming seasons.

But the latest from Fjortoft will be frustrating for fans who are seeing no real progression in the deal.

Fjortoft tweeted on Friday morning that he has been told by a Dortmund insider that there is no chance Sancho will leave the Black and Yellows this summer.

And while United want Sancho, no bid has been made for the player that made 33 goal contributions in the Bundesliga last season.

It is noted by Fjortoft that the situation would change if Sancho looks to force a move by insisting that his intentions are to leave Dortmund.

Former Dortmund stars Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Ousmane Dembele left for Arsenal and Barcelona respectively after making their intentions clear and Sancho may have to follow suit if he wants to move to Old Trafford.

But as of yet, there is nothing to suggest Sancho will force a move from the club that has given him the platform to become one of the coveted young players across Europe.

Sancho travelled to Dortmund’s pre-season training camp in Switzerland, and played 45 minutes in the routine 6-0 friendly victory over SCR Altach.
