Man United bring other transfer business to a halt as club chiefs focus on Jadon Sancho deal

It looks like the pursuit of Jadon Sancho has had setbacks, with Borussia Dortmund so far refusing to sell and insisting the England International will remain with them next season.

Luckily for Manchester United, Jadon Sancho remains committed to moving to Old Trafford. That was much was clear from the interview he gave when Borussia Dortmund visited Tottenham Hotspur in the Champions League, that he wants to return to England — and United are the only option available to him.

As such, United will now focus on getting a deal for Sancho over the line with the Mirror claiming the Reds have put the rest of their transfer business on hold.

The report adds that despite being bullish about a deal in public, Dortmund would be willing to sell Sancho this summer for £100m — a figure United are not prepared to meet.

It is understood United have put the rest of their transfer business on hold while they try to strike the deal – but a centre-back will be looked at once they know what’s happening with the Dortmund star.

Moves for players in other positions have halted which means all of the club’s efforts are going into Sancho.

Sancho broke his silence after playing 45 minutes against Altach in a 6-0 win as the Bundesliga club began their pre-season in Switzerland.

“I love playing with this lot,” Sancho said (via Sky Sports). “It is a special bunch.

“We’ve got some special young players coming up. I am really happy to share the pitch with them and guide them.

“I was once in their shoes, playing with the seniors. I am happy for them. I joined when I was 17. Some of the lads are the same age.

“I’ve been there and done that. I can guide them in what’s good and what isn’t. I can hopefully motivate them as well.”
