Borussia Dortmund respond after Man United target Jadon Sancho is spotted partying in UK

Borussia Dortmund have explained why Jadon Sancho was in the UK this weekend.

They probably wouldn’t have bothered doing so had their star not been heavily linked with a transfer to Manchester United via The Independent.

Sancho flew to the UK on Saturday to attend a friend’s party (yes, during a global pandemic) and was captured on video having a good time with rappers Krept and Konan.

The winger attended Dortmund training before boarding his flight, which suggests the club were will aware of his intentions to return to England over the weekend.

Some reports have suggested that Manchester United have until August 10 to get a deal over the line for Sancho, with Dortmund playing their first pre-season friendly on Wednesday. With that apparent deadline hanging over both clubs, you’d think United would be working hard for the next 24 hours, but I don’t think it will make any difference if United come back to Dortmund after that date with a transfer fee they deem acceptable.

However, Dortmund’s director of media and communications Sascha Fligge insists the England international is due to report back to training tomorrow.

“It’s common and fine for players to go home before a training camp if they’re not risky,”
Fligge said, as per talkSPORT. “The same goes for Jadon [Sancho]. From our point of view, the pictures that have been shown to us so far do not violate.”
