I enjoy the transfer window because it’s when we are worked off our feet to find out what news is worth covering when it comes to Manchester United.

We prioritise the reliable outlets and journalists, of course, but sometimes you’ve got to shine a light on some of the rubbish that seems far-fetched. I’m not about to talk about Neymar leaving PSG to join United, along with Jadon Sancho, but we’re sure that will get reported before the transfer window shuts.

Gareth Bale is another personal favourite.

There’s still hope for Grealish… or is there?

According to the Daily Mail, Manchester United ‘are prepared to wait until late in the window’ to make a move for Jack Grealish.

The Aston Villa captain is ‘not currently a transfer priority’ for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, as negotiations with Borussia Dortmund over a deal for Jadon Sancho take the main focus for now.

But even at that, Villa will demand ‘at least’ £80m and I can’t see United forking out that much for a playmaker this summer.

We could sign a young upgrade on both Juan Mata and Jesse Lingard for less.

United mentioned as Crystal Palace lower Zaha demands

The Sun reckon £30m would be enough to prize Wilfried Zaha away from Selhurst Park.

Crystal Palace have apparently made a decision to lower their valuation for the former Manchester United winger, with the Reds and Chelsea both mentioned in the story and headline.

I just can’t see that happening. Not when it looks like Sancho is on the verge of joining United in a deal that will see him become Britain’s most expensive footballer.

Sancho deal gathering pace

In terms of Jadon Sancho’s transfer fee, it appears Borussia Dortmund will agree to a deal where United could pay the fee for the winger’s transfer ‘over the next two or three seasons’, according to The Guardian.

The sooner a deal is announced the better but a lot of reports claim BVB have set August 10 as the deadline.
