Manchester United have made contact with the agent of Lille star Gabriel Magalhaes over a summer move to Old Trafford, according to reports.

The 22-year-old has impressed in Ligue 1 and it’s hardly a surprise to see Manchester United linked with defenders.

Magalhaes is the latest name along with French left-back Rayan Ait Nouri (via Foot Mercato) to hit the gossip columns, and it’s our duty to bring you the latest updates from the best sources.

RMC journalist Mohamed Bouhafsi claims United have been in contact with the Brazilian’s representatives but no concrete offers have been made for the young defender, who is also wanted by the likes of Napoli and Everton.

Most Reds will argue that United need a centre-back partner for Harry Maguire, but the captain’s form was abysmal after the Premier League restart. He wasn’t a shadow of his former self and Victor Lindelof outperformed him in several games.

The same Lindelof who isn’t good enough for United. The Swede needs upgrade and it doesn’t look like we can rely on Axel Tuanzebe due to his injury problems.
