Borussia Dortmund chief addresses Sancho rumours amid Man Utd claims

Borussia Dortmund sporting director Michael Zorc is hopeful Jadon Sancho will remain at the club for another year despite increasingly strong links to Manchester United.

Well, for starters, you’ve got Sky Sports claiming United are confident about agreeing on a deal for Dortmund’s main asset this summer. Meanwhile ESPN claim Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has urged the Reds to get a deal over the line as soon as possible.

The 20-year-old is one of the biggest stars on offer in the Bundesliga. In 2017 he left Manchester City in search of first team football, and just a couple of years later we are talking about him as one of the best players in the world. It’s a truly remarkable story.

This season he scored 20 goals and provided 18 assists.

And with Manchester United back in the Champions League next season, Solskjaer must think it’s a good time to attract real quality to Old Trafford.

Dortmund, however, have a price and are reportedly playing hardball over negotiations which they are bound to do during these early stages of talks.

Addressing Sancho’s future on Thursday, Zorc said (via AS): “Jadon is an outstanding footballer with a quota that I have never seen at this age.

“I think it would even stand up to being on of the largest in the industry if you look at its age. I would be happy if he would still play with us this season. And that’s the current state of affairs.

“First of all we haver to stick to the facts — and they are so, that we still have a contract with him until 2022.”

This won’t put United off. They know money talks and there will be a way around Dortmund.
