Man Utd and Liverpool both reportedly interested in France U-16s defensive talent

Reports in France claim Manchester United and Liverpool are interested in signing promising French defender Willy Kambwala this summer.

Kambwala, 15, is on the books at Sochaux (Ligue 2 outfit) and he represents France’s U-16s at centre-back. Sochaux are supposedly trying to sort a new youth contract but the youngster’s head could be turned by interest abroad.

According to Get French Football News via L’Equipe, Kambwala is ‘currently evaluating’ the proposal from Sochaux, with interested sides able to make an offer of their own once he turns 16 at the end of August. United and Liverpool are two clubs mentioned as already being interested in the report.

It’s an area of United’s first-team that needs to improve and Solskjaer could be about to ensure that United have talent ready in the future as well as now.

Of course, are important years for the youngster’s development and he could be about to make a similar move to Hannibal Mejbri, who joined from AS Monaco’s youth team.

It’s clear and great to see what Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is trying to do at United. Building an attractive team around young and hungry players.
