Manchester United have been relentlessly linked with Jadon Sancho for quite some time now with the latest news being that the club will not spend more than £50m on the player and even more recently that a £200k a week contract has already been agreed ‘in principle’.
Recent news has suggested that firstly, United have put a transfer limit on the fee they pay for Sancho which was reported to be £50m, according to Sky Sports News.
Secondly, more recent reports this evening via Transfer Window Podcast have suggested that the 20-year old attacker has already agreed a contract ‘in principle’ with United believed to be in the region of £200k a-week. However, no transfer fee between United and parent club Borussia Dortmund has been finalised.
As we understand it, both of these reports appear to have little to no basis to them. In line with what leading journalist and popular radio host, Phil Brown has confirmed this evening, no club officials have mentioned a specific figure regarding Sancho.
Secondly, the reports suggesting the player and club have agreed a contract is also more ‘agent mischief’ than it is a solid development.
Just done a bit of digging, don’t shoot the messenger but what I’ve been told by an exceptional source is
1. The story Utd have agreed personal terms with @sanchooo10 is more agent mischief than reality
2. Utd have not told anyone they’ll only pay 50m for Sancho
