Largie Ramazani is reportedly set to join UD Almeria after turning down a new contract at Manchester United.

The winger, 19, was one of 10 players released by United this week, most notably including Angel Gomes.

While Ramazani does not hold the same status as Gomes, he is a fantastic talent in his own right and many fans were surprised to see him go after impressing in Neil Wood’s Under-23 side this season.

The Belgian youth international scored nine times in 13 Premier League 2 appearances before the season was curtailed due to the coronavirus pandemic.

He made his debut for the Reds from the bench in November’s Europa League group stage fixture against Astana which United lost 2-1, albeit with a team made up of academy prospects.

According to the Manchester Evening News, United did offer Ramazani a new contract to remain at the club, but he decided to seek a future elsewhere.

It is believed the youngster was concerned over the amount of first-team game time he would receive under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer given the number of talented attacking options currently ahead of him in the pecking order.

And he is now set to join Spanish second division side UD Almeria, who are currently fourth and pushing for promotion to La Liga.

Ramazani sent a heartfelt message after his release on social media, thanking the club and wishing the best for the future.

We will follow the youngster’s career avidly in the coming years as we wait to find out if United will rue not doing any more in persuading him to stay.
