Coveted Bayern Leverkusen star Kai Havertz is reportedly open to a transfer to Manchester United this summer.
Manchester Evening News report that United have been impressed by the forward’s performances this season, and the German international views a move to the Premier League as a realistic possibility.
Havertz is one of the Bundesliga’s most exciting talents and has stolen all the headlines for his irrepressible form since the league’s return last month.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer needs to bolster his attacking options this summer and Havertz surely fits the recruitment criteria of young, promising talent.
Havertz, 21 this week, has scored 11 Bundesliga goals this season and laid on another five assists, operating from a number of different positions.
And it is the youngster’s versatility that makes him such an attractive proposition for United. Havertz could fill the void on the right-wing, play in a creative midfield role or allow Solskjaer to explore a new formation with a false 9.
But while some United fans are excited over the news of his interest in a move, its his versatility that counts against him in the eyes of many supporters.
Some feel that there is no place for Havertz in the team, given the addition of attacking midfielder Bruno Fernandes in January.
However, we feel a player of Havertz’s talent is too good to ignore and there would be plenty of ways Solskjaer could fit the German starlet into his side.
See what some fans have made of the latest reports regarding his stance on a move to Old Trafford:
We don’t need a winger because we getting sancho. He does have versatility in positions he can play but i don’t see him playing regular first team football at united

havertz wont be a good fit for us. we dont play with a false 9 so why would we get him

We won’t sign both! KH is the best talent in Germany only 21. He plays AM and RW ( left footed). Let’s see… hope we sign one of the 2!

He could easily play up front as a false 9 to increase competition with Martial and Greenwood, as well as slotting in at RW and AM/CM when needed. Shouldn’t be a priority signing though

he can play in any attacking position tho, a very versatile player.

As much as I’d take Havertz in a heartbeat it doesn’t seem likely if we have Pogba and Bruno. If the former leaves then possibly. If Sancho moves elsewhere then obviously Havertz or Grealish would be a good alternative.
