Dimitar Berbatov makes prediction about Paul Pogba’s possible Man United impact

Dimitar Berbatov has made a stunning claim that with a fully fit Paul Pogba United can push on once the season resumes and finish inside the top four.

Speaking to Betfair, Berbatov thinks with the help of a fully fit Pogba, Manchester United can continue their fine form prior to the season’s suspension and break into the illustrious top four.

Pogba, 27, has been out of action for the Reds due to injury since December last year.

Current boss, Ole Gunner Solskjaer has done well to fill the midfield void left by Pogba’s time on the sidelines by getting the best out of the likes of Fred and Scott McTominay. Solskjaer has also used solid reinforcement in the form of Nemanja Matic to his advantage by operating a fluid rotational system.

In addition to the squad’s progressing midfield, Solskjaer and the United board opted to add to their options by bringing in Portuguese sensation Bruno Fernandes from Sporting Lisbon in January.

However, Pogba’s on-field contribution and influence cannot be underestimated, some even believe replaced. One of those admirers is ex-United striker, Berbatov.

During a recent interview with Betfair, as part of his Ambassador duties, the United legend said “Pogba’s return is a massive boost and will give huge confidence to the whole team. One player doesn’t define a team, but when you have good, quality, confident players putting all their effort in to help the team then you are going to succeed.”

Berbatov went onto mention the exciting prospect of seeing Pogba and Fernandes link up for the first time, ”It will be the first time we get to see Fernandes and Pogba play together and it will be interesting to see if they can hit it off, they will have had the chance to get to know each other in training but that is totally different to a game. It could be a great partnership” he said.
