Man United star duo Marcus Rashford and Paul Pogba send powerful anti-racism messages

The death of George Floyd this week has sparked a huge global response about the injustices faced still faced by black people in the 21st century. 

News of Floyd’s death has provoked large anti-racism protests across America and in England this week.

The rush of anger was caused after a video emerged showing Mr Floyd being arrested and a white police officer kneeling on his neck for almost nine minutes despite the fact he was pleading that he could no longer breath.

Sacked police officer Derek Chauvin has since been charged with Floyd’s murder.

A petition that began in order to ensure Floyd gets justice has so far received over 10,500,000 signatures and is still growing.

In the wake of Floyd’s death, professional athletes have been spreading powerful messages about racism on social media.

Two of the most high-profile stars to raise the issue have been Manchester United players Paul Pogba and Marcus Rashford, who both called for unity and an end to racism.
