Borussia Dortmund are within minutes of taking on German title favourites, Bayern Munich, in what is arguably the most significant match in this season’s Bundesliga title race.

Both teams are within touching distance of German football’s most sought after prize.

Dortmund currently sit second in the table on 57 points with eight games to play and Bayern slightly ahead at the top on 61 points with the same amount of games to go.

The match between these two German giants is being dubbed as a potential title decider, yet whilst the significance of this game speaks for itself, Dortmund have again, for the third game in a row, opted to leave star forward, Jadon Sancho, on the bench.

Sancho was benched in Dortmund’s last two games against Schalke and Wolfburg. The young Englishman did manage to make an impact from the subs bench in his last outing though, providing the assist for fellow on-loan team mate, right back, Achraf Hakimi.

It was believed Sancho was being man managed in the last two games with a view to have his sharpness and fitness peak in time for the game against title leaders, Bayern Munich. Although, with the releasing of the side’s starting line ups, that theory has now been thrown out of the window.

Undoubtedly, seeing Sancho from the bench in his side’s most important domestic game yet will definitely get Manchester United fan’s licking their lips once again.

Does Dortmund manager, Lucien Favre, feel Sancho’s mind is currently elsewhere? Perhaps half in Germany, half in Manchester?

Expect the latest team news coming out of Germany to inject further Sancho to United speculation.

This one just is not going away.
