Wolves are willing to sell star striker Raul Jimenez this summer and have slapped a £53m price tag on him, according to reports.

Manchester United have been strongly linked with the Mexican forward, who has netted an impressive 22 goals and chipped in with 10 assists in 44 games for the Premier League outfit this season.

Wolves have bene very good this season and are currently positioned sixth, a place behind United, so thanks to Jimenez’s goals they are fighting for a Champions League spot. They will be anticipating the return of the Premier League which hangs in the balance due to the coronavirus pandemic, but the governing body of English football hope to restart the campaign next month.

Jimenez’s form has attracted the attention of no less than eleven clubs according to Tuttosport, with United and Juventus leading the race for his signature. He’s proven to be one of the top strikers in the Premier League this season and the race to sign him is likely to bring stiff competition.

In today’s market (depending on the impact the COVID-19 financial crisis has on the transfer market) £53m isn’t mind blowing for a goalscorer like Jimenez.

‘Jimenez will almost certainly leave Wolverhampton at the end of the season, because too many teams are courting him and one will certainly succeed,’ claims Tuttosport reporter Guido Vaciago. ‘The club, moreover, has no intention of blocking the move and is already thinking how to reinvest the nest egg.’

We are no under the impression that Jimenez is United’s top priority in their search for a striker, but there is a lot to suggest he is on the club’s list of potential acquisitions this summer.

The future of Odion Ighalo is up in the air and we wouldn’t be surprised if he returned to Shanghai Shenhua at the end of his loan spell.

Tuttosport add that Napoli’s Arkadiusk Milik is Juve’s top target.
