Man Utd face competition for Sancho signing as Spanish giants join transfer chase – report

Fresh reports suggest Manchester United could potentially face competition for Jadon Sancho in the summer.

According to SportBILD in Germany, Barcelona have joined the race to sign the Borussia Dortmund winger but only on loan with the highly-rated Ansu Fati going the opposite direction, as cited by The Mirror.

This means United’s hopes of having a free run at signing Sancho could hit a snag since few players reject moves to the La Liga giants.

Quique Setien will try to revamp his Barça squad in attempt to get them back winning European Cups again, and it may be time to try find a new star with Lionel Messi now 32.

This is an indication that Setien sees Sancho as a better option than Neymar, who has been strongly linked with a return to Camp Nou.

Our thinking is Dortmund will hold out for a £100m+ transfer fee despite the coronavirus financial crisis bound to have a negative impact on club’s spending in the transfer market.

This is likely to limit Sancho’s options but there’s every reason to believe the Red Devils are leading the race to secure his signature this summer.

Sancho has scored 14 goals while registering 15 assists in 23 appearances in the Bundesliga this season.
