Gary Neville has outlined the terms on which football can continue after the coronavirus outbreak.
There is currently a huge amount of uncertainty as to when we will see the game eventually return, and we have yet to hit the peak of COVID-19 infections in the UK.
The postponement of the Premier League has led to huge debate over whether it should reach it’s natural conclusion or be voided for when it is safe to play again.
Manchester United great Neville thinks it would be in the integrity of the sport to finish this season, albeit in a condensed fashion with games played in quick succession.

This summer’s transfer window is going to be a difficult for many clubs who have been hit financially by the global pandemic. Neville therefore suggests an extended transfer window starting in May that offers flexibility.
It is unclear the business clubs will be prepared to do in the next transfer window given the financial uncertainty. Nonetheless, this represents Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s next opportunity to accelerate his squad rebuild and close the gap on bitter rivals Liverpool and Manchester City.
Neville also raised an important point about offering support for the clubs in the lower leagues who are at the most risk due to the coronavirus.
Premier League sides earn ridiculous amounts through TV deals and other commercial contracts, and should help out the clubs who may otherwise struggle to survive.
It would be a tragedy to see clubs fall by the wayside as a result of the coronavirus crisis.
