Manchester United and Liverpool are reportedly among the clubs who could be said to battle it out for Valencia winger Ferran Torres this summer.
The 20-year-old has been excellent in La Liga this season, showing himself to be one of the hottest prospects in European football right now, and one would think a big move beckons in the near future.
Torres made his first team debut in November 2017 and has made 88 appearances since, becoming a regular under Marcelino Garcia Toral and then Albert Celades.
According to Don Balon, who aren’t usually reliable, Barcelona have asked Valencia about Torres’ availability, though the report goes on to suggest they will face plenty of competition for his signature. It may even be worth checking the betting markets once you discover the bet365 bonus code, with negotiations set to be conducted early this year as games are currently suspended.
Not face-to-face of course — negotiations can be done over conference call and WhatsApp, with the former being a favourite for many football agents and intermediaries.
Manchester United, Liverpool, Juventus and Paris Saint-Germain are all mentioned as potential suitors, with Valencia seemingly prepared to let the Spain U-21 international leave for around €50m, which is a lot less than I would have thought they would be demanding…
Torres penned a new contract with Los Che in April 2018 in a deal which runs through until 2021 — with a €100m release clause.
Why two years later would they accept €50m less?
Spanish media also claim that Valencia are hoping to once again tie the highly-rated winger down to a new deal to ward off interest from Real Madrid, who have reportedly been following his progress for years — as outlined in a Diario AS report in December.
“I hope Ferran can stay at our club for a very long time,” Celades is cited as saying by Superdeporte.
“He is a player from our club and he feels it, that is always a big deal. I hope an agreement can soon be reached with Ferran.”
What we know
Over a month ago, I took to Twitter to reveal some information I had been given on Torres.
Believe Man Utd watched Ferran Torres earlier this season. Looks a real prospect, playing now against Atalanta.

United have watched him the right-winger this season — which has us thinking if he could be an alternative option to Jadon Sancho?
We won’t target both.
The two wingers are going to be costly but a £50m deal for Torres sounds very tempting, especially when we don’t fully know what sort of affect COVID-19 will have on the transfer market.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side look in particular need of a quality right-sided attacker to give the team more balance.
Torres would be a huge upgrade on any of the players we have available to play that role, and he’d be cheaper than Sancho.
