WhoScored have awarded Manchester United stars Bruno Fernandes, Harry Maguire, Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Luke Shaw with a place in their Premier League Team of the Month for February.
Fernandes also picked up the honour of WhoScored’s top-flight Player of the Month.
Three United defenders making up the back four in a team of the month is something we were used to seeing when Sir Alex Ferguson was in the charge. It’s been a long time since a team of the month included as many as four United players, too.
Maguire recorded a rating of 8.01, with Shaw and Wan-Bissaka being rated 7.49 and 7.77 respectively. New signing Fernandes got the same rating as skipper Maguire (8.01).
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side were unbeaten in their three league games last month, with the Red Devils winning two games and drawing one over the last month.
Shaw is back on track with some impressive performances, whilst Maguire and Wan-Bissaka continue to stand out in their first season at the club.
United need to stick to their plans and turn more draws into the wins. It’s positive that we are not losing games at the moment, certainly a step in the right direction, but better results are required if United are to finish in the top four.
