Manchester United midfielder Jesse Lingard appears to have angered some fans for perhaps having a little too much fun in training ahead of their Europa League clash against Club Brugge tonight.
The 27-year-old appeared to be dancing around the ball alongside teammate Andreas Pereira.
Lingard can also be seen doing a handstand!
But do footballers need to be serious all of the time? Is the criticism Lingard gets over the top?
In my opinion, no player should be dancing like an idiot when they’re training. Training is serious and maybe if it was taken as seriously as it should, United would be in a better position in the league and searching for less excuses.
Then again, the reality is players all pop jokes and mess around during training. Anybody who has played football at any level knows that.
Take a look at the attacking midfielder in training below:

Lingard has been going through a difficult time lately and needs help to get his career back on track. For an attacking player he doesn’t contribute anywhere near enough goals and the addition of Bruno Fernandes is likely to show him up as well as other members in the squad.
Here’s how some fans reacted to the clip:
With dedication to training like this, it’s a real mystery why @JesseLingard’s been dropped 🤔 https://t.co/NucWhIxVbs

He used to be so good, 2-3 seasons ago. What even happened?!

Perform how you train.

That Lingard video of him in training personifies why he needs to be out of United.
I’m all for having fun at work when you’re performing welll – Jesse has consistently under performed at some crucial points
